Broken

October 17, 2008
Reposted on 8/17/2014

When something is broken we try to fix it. We want to put it back together again. Sometimes we just want to throw it away because we feel it is beyond repair.

When I was growing up it always amazed me how my father could always fix anything presented to him. No matter what it was, if it was broken he would find a way to fix it. So as I got older I came to rely on my father to fix whatever needed to be fixed, and he's never let me down. I passed these expectations on to my children. Whenever something was broken (toys, games, etc.), they would say, “let’s save this for granddaddy, he can fix anything”. Still to this day, I can’t recall anything I have presented to my father that he wasn’t able to fix. I always have the faith that he will fix it.

This same faith that I have in my earthly father to fix anything that I ask of him is the same faith that I have that my heavenly father can, and will fix whatever I present to him that is broken. I trust and believe that he will deliver.

What is broken in your life? No matter what it is, (heart, spirit, family, etc.) if you give it over to Jesus he will fix it for you. Trust and have faith in him. He won’t let you down.

TOMORROW

Tomorrow is considered the future. We can also look at it as a second chance. Now let’s imagine God woke us up this morning and told us that today is our last day. YOU HAVE NO TOMORROW.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO WITH TODAY?

Yes, I know we all are familiar with that saying “Tomorrow is not promised….”, but do we truly believe that; or do we take tomorrow for granted?

I recently lost a cousin, and a week before her passing it was placed in my spirit to call her, but I kept saying I’ll do it tomorrow. Guess what…..tomorrow never came, and I missed it. I missed the opportunity to laugh with her once again, why because I took for granted that tomorrow would always be there, even though I knew that tomorrow is not promised.

What would you do if you knew that there was no tomorrow? Would you go and tell someone that you’re sorry; or that you forgive them? Would you take today off and just admire the beauty of God? Would you take an hour and play with your children? Would you take a minute and call someone and just tell them that you were thinking about them?

WHAT WOULD YOU DO TODAY IF YOU HAD NO TOMORROW?
